One reason I take a lot of pictures is that I can see the details better on my computer than in RL. At 68, with advanced glaucoma, my vision is not as good as my camera's :) I also like playing with pics; computer art is so much less messy than painting. I work for a non-profit orgainization, and fix computers on the side.
