When taking images on a modern digital camera, the model and manufacturer of the device - and a lot more information - is stored in the so-called EXIF data of each photo. On Pixabay, you can see this data displayed in the sidebar of each image and, as of today, you even get an overview list of all used camera models within our community. Browse this list and see, which cameras are used most often, and which yield the best image quality. Sure, the photographer himself/herself contributes a lot to whether an image is great or not, but it will still give you a good hint on which cameras are really great.
Our most popular cameras at this moment
With almost 4300 shots, our most used camera is currently Panasonic's DMC-FZ18. On the camera details page, you see an image of the device itself, plus more useful information, and of course - a list of all taken photos. Most of them were contributed by Hans, team member of Pixabay. Placed second on our list of popular cameras is one of Canon's flagships, the EOS 5D Mark II, with 1664 available photos. The most prominent Pixabay user working on this device is PublicDomainPictures. Third place on our list makes the Panasonic DMC-FZ38, counting about 900 images, most of which uploaded by LoggaWiggler. Thank you all for contributing so much to this project!
We are looking forward to soon provide camera reviews here on Pixabay, comparing different models, and elaborating on strengths and weaknesses of the devices. You may also start discussing right away in our photography forum!
